Twelve months of Sociatech marketing skill… pro bono

Most audio developers don't fail because their products are weak. They fail because the budget runs out the moment the real work starts, getting it in front of people who'll actually buy it.

By launch, the money that should have funded positioning and promotion has already been spent on building the thing. What's left is a good product going up against companies with bigger teams, bigger budgets, and, in some cases, private equity backing.

We've spent 18 years helping professional audio and music technology brands solve exactly this problem. Now, once a year, we're giving that expertise away.

What We're Offering

One year of Sociatech's strategic and creative work. Brand positioning. Content and storytelling. Launch and campaign strategy. The full service could cost around £12,000 to £20,000, awarded to one company, completely free.

One condition. You commit a minimum of £500 a month, for twelve months, to your own media spend; the advertising and promotion budget the strategy will need. Not to us. To your own campaign.

We bring the direction. You bring the fuel.

"Working with Sociatech put Playfair Audio in a completely different position. What used to feel like constant shouting into the void is now clear, focused communication." — Christian Luther, Founder, Playfair Audio

Why This Exists

We see the same story on repeat. A small team builds something genuinely good. They pour everything into the product and nothing into the story around it. Then they're standing in a crowded market with no way to be heard.

That's not a product problem. It's an expertise and capital problem, and it's exactly what we fix.

"As owner of a small company, I was looking for an allrounder who could help me increase our user base and develop a marketing strategy. Since working with them, we've been able to increase our market reach and brand awareness." — Flo Loferer, Owner, Non-Lethal Applications

Who We've Done This For

Eighteen years working behind the scenes on some of the industry's biggest-selling and most decorated products. Clients ranging from ambitious independents to names like Focusrite, Universal Audio, iZotope, PreSonus, Avid, Arturia, and Slate Digital.

"Sociatech has completely changed the game for me as a solo developer. Before teaming up with them, I didn't fully grasp the influence of targeted marketing on sales." — Benjamin Graf, Accentize

"Since we've started working together we've been breaking our annual sales records and awareness of our products has significantly increased." — Nir Averbuch, Founder, Sound Radix

Who Qualifies

This isn't open to everyone. We're looking for one specific kind of company:

  • A real product. Built, or close enough to launch that a focused campaign this year is realistic.

  • A genuine underdog story. You're competing against bigger teams, bigger budgets, maybe money that doesn't behave like normal money.

  • The gap is expertise, not effort. You can build. Positioning and storytelling aren't where your strengths lie, that's where we come in.

  • Capital ready for media, not consultancy. A minimum of £500 a month, sustainable for twelve months, without straining the business.

  • Someone who can move fast. A founder or decision-maker who can approve creative and act on strategy without delay.

"Sociatech has been a great partner for us for years. When it comes to understanding both our products and our market, they always deliver." — Jim Boitnott, COO, PreSonus Audio Electronics

How To Apply

Send us a written application answering these questions:

  1. Your story so far.

  2. What have you built, and where is it right now - in development, shipping, or already in market? We can sign an NDA if you require.

  3. Who's outcompeting you, and what do they have that you don't?

  4. Can you confirm a minimum of £500 per month in media spend for 12 months, independent of this arrangement?

  5. What does success look like for you in twelve months?

Be specific. Vague answers are the fastest way to be missed.

The Year, Roughly

Month 1 — Discovery and positioning. Treated exactly as we'd treat a paying engagement.

Months 2–3 — Strategy and campaign framework. Content foundations built.

Months 4–11 — Execution. Content, launch or relaunch activities, and artist and community relationships, where relevant.

Month 12 — Results reviewed against real numbers. A conversation about what comes next.

"In 30 years in the pro audio industry, I've found there are good, normal PR and marketing advisors, and then there's Russ." — Jeff Bloom, CEO, Synchro Arts

Terms For Consideration

  • The scholarship is awarded once a year to a single company.

  • The work is pro bono. The minimum £500 monthly commitment goes to the recipient's own media spend, not to Sociatech.

  • Sociatech reserves the right to end the arrangement early if the media spend commitment lapses or the recipient can't engage with the work at the pace required by the campaign.

  • Selection is at Sociatech's discretion, judged on fit as well as merit.

  • Being awarded the scholarship carries no obligation to hire Sociatech afterwards, and no obligation on our part to offer a paid contract. That conversation happens on the results.

  • Applications must reach us by September 30th 2026, to be considered.
